If you are like most people, you probably have at least one PlayStation 4 game or media system stored on your hard drive. If you don’t, it’s time to get started on transferring your games and media to a new HDD. There are a few things you need to do in order to transfer your PlayStation 4 data to a new HDD:
- Make sure that your PlayStation 4 is properly plugged into an electrical outlet and that the power is off.
- Remove all of the games and media from the old HDD and place them in a new one.
- Connect the new HDD to your PlayStation 4 using an appropriate cable.
- Launch the PlayStation 4 software and select “Data Transfer” from the main menu.
- In the “Transfer Data” window, select " Playstation 4 (PS4)" from the list of devices and click on “Start.”
- The process of transferring your data will begin automatically. Once it’s complete, select “Exit” and enjoy your new PS4 storage!
